Draft, to be confirmed by Dan
Privacy policy
[To be confirmed: this policy is a draft awaiting Dan’s review. Every note in square brackets still needs his answer before launch. It is not legal advice.]
Who we are
This policy explains how Finer Touch Projects Pty Ltd (ABN 42 678 361 665, “we”, “us”) handles personal information collected through this website and when you contact us. We are a builder based in Brisbane, Queensland.
You can contact us about privacy at admin@finertouchprojects.com.au or on 0401 387 240.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through the form on this website we collect the details you type in: your name, email address, phone number (optional), suburb (optional), the type of project, where you are at with it, and your message.
If you phone or email us we keep the details you give us in the same way.
Like most websites, the server that hosts this site records technical information about each visit, such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested. We may also use analytics and advertising tools: see “Analytics and advertising cookies” below.
Why we collect it
- to reply to your enquiry and talk through your project;
- to assess whether we are a good fit and to prepare for a consultation or the Pre-Construction Advisory and Consultation (PAC) process;
- to keep a record of our dealings with you; and
- to meet our legal and licensing obligations as a builder.
[To be confirmed with Dan: We do not sell your personal information.]
How it is stored
Enquiries sent through the form are emailed to our business email address and a copy is kept in the website’s database so that an enquiry is not lost. Information is also kept in our email and business records. [To be confirmed: where the website is hosted, how long enquiries are kept, and whether enquiries are passed to a customer relationship management (CRM) tool.]
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and to delete or de-identify it when we no longer need it.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where needed to run the business and deliver your project: with the providers that host this website and handle our email, and, with your involvement, with architects, designers, consultants and subcontractors working on your project. [To be confirmed: whether any of these providers store information outside Australia.]
Cookies
[To be confirmed: describe the cookies this website sets, if any, and how to turn them off in your browser.]
Analytics and advertising cookies
[To be confirmed with Dan: whether Google Analytics 4 and the Meta (Facebook) pixel are switched on when the site launches. If neither is used, remove this section.]
This website can use Google Analytics 4 and the Meta (Facebook) pixel. We use them to understand how visitors find and use the site, and to measure enquiries that come from our advertising.
They set cookies in your browser and send Google and Meta the pages you view and the buttons and links you click, for example “Get started”, our phone number or our email address. They do not send what you type into our contact form or survey.
Google and Meta handle this information under their own privacy policies. [To be confirmed: how long the data is kept in each account, and whether it is used for remarketing.]
You can opt out at any time: block or delete cookies in your browser settings, install Google’s opt-out browser add-on, or change your Meta ad preferences.
Your rights: access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it, as set out in the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including APP 12 (access) and APP 13 (correction). Email or phone us using the details above. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first so we can try to put it right. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page. Last updated: [date to be confirmed when published].
